Welcome!

Welcome to "Sarah's Rainbow Garden"!

This is a project that my daughter Sarah wanted to try as her first business. It's a permaculture based CSA (community supported agriculture) and is based on laying hens producing eggs. Future crops include broilers, blackberries, tomatoes, and strawberries.

Sarah chose the CSA model because she wants to manage this as an "adopt a hen" concept. CSA members will adopt a hen, which includes a certificate of adoption and frequent updates on the daily lives of their chicken, and will recieve a half-dozen eggs each week. It's only six a week since the birds do get Sunday off.

Sarah chose Americaunas, the Easter Egg chickens, for her layers. The distinct blue, green, and pink eggs let you know your eating something special, like a rainbow. She will be feeding them Purina SunFresh Layena Plus Omega-3 for the healthest eggs possible.

Sarah's Rainbows CSA members also get special offers from Waccamaw Poultry. They can reserve their Thanksgiving turkeys and other special products before the limited numbers are offered to the general public. New products we are testing on the farm will only be offered to CSA members while in the prototype stage. In the near future this may include lamb, tilapia, squash, squab, and grapes.

If you're interested in becoming a CSA member please contact us. (crperdue@hotmail.com)
